When to use Context Source in workflow

Context Source acts as a data stream generator. If we want to pass a data from a file from a workflow task into a back-end system then we need to generate a data stream which would allow us to route it to any target application. In order to generate a data stream out of this file (attached in a workflow task) then we need a Context Source.
