LAN or file source
Not plannedIdea: Merge Lan and File source
I can configure a local file in a LAN activity as well, so why should I choose for File Source? Thanks in advance.
Conclusion:
Functionality wise all sources do the same job, they get the data file but the configuration required for each of them is different. File & LAN File source have different configurations. For example, with a LAN File Source you need to specify if the file is on Windows machine or Unix based machine.
In terms of ease of use, a client may find it easier to define LAN file sources as files that are not on the local machine and File sources as files that are on the local machine. You may be able to access a file that is located on the local machine using a LAN source, but that option is based on user preference.
Therefore, we're not considering merging the LAN File & File sources at this time.
