Data Mapper - Remove Empty Attributes

I am working with an output XML schema in which each element has multiple attributes.  Most of these attributes are not mapped to any value so the output contains a lot of empty attributes.  Without deleting the attribute from the schema, is it possible to not generate an attribute if it has no value?
